Innovate Ô05 Xerox Art Gallery The Innovate Ő05 exhibition organised by Xerox Polska was held from 1st to 3rd of March in the Warsaw Olympic Centre. It was preceded by a press conference, where Sacha Laassiri, Managing Director of Xerox Polska, presented the companyŐs financial results for the very profitable year 2004. Novelties presented on the exhibition included: DocuColor 8000 system equipped with a new ROS technology, production version of Nuvera black&white press, Kobi 8142/8160 large-format colour printer, Kamatari 6050/6030 A0 format copier-printer as well as LCD monitors and flat-bed scanners. The exhibition was accompanied by seminars devoted to the use of Xerox printing systems in digital printing houses. Alcan buys a factory in Zlotow On 15th of June, Alcan Inc. announced that it had reached an agreement with the British Board of Parkside International regarding a an acqui-sition of a factory of flexible packaging for food products in Zlotow. The transaction is part of strategy of Alcan Packaging, which wants to strengthen its position on the competitive markets of the Central and Eastern Europe. The factory employs 150 people; it is equipped with the most modern flexo printing presses, which can be even further developed and expanded. The value of the transaction was not disclosed; it still has to be approved by the German and Polish antimonopoly institutes. New plant of the Kety Group Towards the end of January this year, Kety Group started up another modern plant on the property of the Alupol company in the special economic zone in Tychy. It will produce packaging with the use of a new technology, so far not used by Kety Group, flexo printing. The new plant was built in six months at the cost of over 20 million Polish zlotys. It is equipped with an 8-colour flexo printing press and a complete prepress line including a with a Computer-to-Flexo system. Duplo is opening a branch in Poland Duplo International is expanding its sales network on European markets by opening its branch in Poland on the 1st of April this year. It will be managed by Tomasz Gajkowski, who has cooperated with the Polish branch of OcŽ for the last few years. Duplo Poland will be offering all products and solutions from the offer of Duplo International, including solutions of the printing sector, digital printing systems and solutions for offices. The company is also planning to form its own service team of engineers to offer best service of its products. Changes on the Board of MAN Roland Polska On the 4th of March this year, MAN Roland CEE announced that Grzegorz Zalewski was recalled from his position of a member of the Board of MAN Roland Polska. The decision was taken with the agreement of both parties. The companyŐs management will now be in the hands of: Jaroslaw Taranko, responsible for the sales of printing presses and postpress; Patrick Noone, responsible for finance and Dirk Deuschel responsible for service, prepress & supplies. According to the Board of MAN Roland CEE AG, Poland is the most important market within the area of operation of CEE. Heidelberg Polska becomes distributor for LŸscher Flexo According to an agreement signed by Heidelberg Polska and LŸscher Flexo, beginning from February this year, Heidelberg Polska became a distributor of LŸscher Flexpose! Direct CtP systems in Poland. The systems are designed for direct engraving of letterpress and flexo sleeves and plates. Their grand premiere took place on Drupa 2004. The systems are manufactured in Great Britain and they are a development of the ZEDMini line.
