Taropak 2005
This year, Taropak international packaging and logistics fair was already held for the 24th time (September 20-23 in Poznań). It took up 6 exhibit halls, almost 700 exhibitors from 29 countries came to present their products and services, there were several conferences and seminars. On the first day, there was, among others, a press conference "Ukrainian packaging market for Polish manufacturers", organised by Club Upakovchikov and International Poznań Fair, on the second day, the 3rd International Central-Eastern European Packaging Conference was held under a theme ŇPackaging Đ Market Đ EnvironmentÓ, whose one of media sponsors was Poligrafika. The Conference was accompanied by a meeting of The Work Team of the European Packaging Institute.
Among the exhibitors, there were many representatives of suppliers of printing materials and equipment and a group of packaging printing houses. Many companies chose the Fair for their premieres, for example: Bobst Group, Tesa Tape. Under another theme, ŇProducts from China Đ the future begins nowÓ the Henn Group made known its presence on the Polish Market together with its sales partners Xteam and Art.
There was a lot of interest in the Pack Fashion Đ a show of creations of decorated papers and board, organised by Packaging Polska, Papyrus, Zanders Spectral, Anipol and SG Equipment Finance.
New General Director at Xerox Polska
Beginning September this year, the position of General Director of Xerox Polska is held by Wojciech Gaca. He will be responsible for co-creating the strategy and development of the Polish branch of Xerox.
Sacha Laassiri, former General Director of Xerox Polska, was named to the position of Global Services Director Đ Xerox International Group.
Wojciech Gaca has been in the IT field for 13 years now; he used to work for Hewlett-Packard.
First Presstek CtP heatsetter...
On 15th of September, KBA-Grafitec, a Czech company, distributor of CtP heatsetters of the American manufacturer, Presstek for Central-Eastern Europe organised Open Door Days in Grafikon, a printing house in Wadowice. After the Poligrafia 2005 fair, there was installed a new B2 format 5-colour printing press with alternative varnishing unit, manufactured in the Czech plant of KBA-Grafitec and a complete CtP system consisting of Presstek Excel 400 CtP heatsetter, processing machine, RIP and complete software. The contract is also for the supply of Anthem processless plates, also made by Presstek.
...and first Speedmaster CD 74 Duo in Poland
JDA Jankowski printing house in Lomza, one of the biggest beer label manufacturers (currently it employs 80 people) is expanding its equipment base with a Speedmaster CD 74 Duo. It will be the first such printing press in Central-Eastern Europe. Since its establishment in 1986, JDA printing house has been HeidelbergŐs client. Production of labels started here on one of the first HeidelbergŐs offset printing presses, KORD. At present, in the printing house there are also two other Speedmasters SM 74-6+LX.
Kolbus DA 232 in Perfekt printing house
In mid-September, a new automating machine Kolbus DA 232 started working in the Warsaw-based printing house, Perfekt. ItŐs the first installation of this kind of equipment in a book printing house in Poland. It was supplied by Introzap, the only representative of Kolbus in Poland.
Kolbus DA 232 is designed for fully automated production of book covers, binders, posters, calendar backsides, and board games. Due to the companyŐs profile, one of the biggest book printing houses in Poland, it is used only for production of book covers, especially small format. In near future it is to be equipped with board automating cutting machine.
