10 Years of Donnelley in Poland The 10th anniversary of RR Donnelley's operation in Poland was officially celebrated in Cracow on September 30. The American giant invested here already in 1994 and instantly became one of the main players on the Polish printing market, specialising in production of high standard colour magazines, catalogues and directories. At present, Donnelley owns two modern printing houses in Poland (both of them located in Cracow, with the equipment worth over $100 million) and a prepress studio, Premedia in Warsaw, thus employing a total of over 1000 people. At the celebrations present were executives of RR Donnelley Europe, including Paul Masterton, responsible of the company's operations in Europe. Among 250 guests, there were representatives of the company's key clients, both from Poland and abroad. International Meeting of the AC&C HSH Group Partners The First International Meeting of Partners of AC&C HSH Group, a Polish producer of software for printing and publishing industry, was held in Cracow from October 20 to 22. Present were representatives of companies from several European countries: Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, Norway, as well as representatives of Reprograf, one of the Polish distributors of the company's products, and Heidelberg Polska (recently AC&C HSH Group signed an OEM contract with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG for inclusion of the PDF Recombiner module into Heidelberg Prinect Printready system). The owners of the company, Andrzej Czyż and Marcin Streszewski summarised the history of the company, presented its beginnings and development, not failing to mention that AC&C HSH Group has already got over 500 clients around the world. Next items on the agenda were speeches by representatives of the companies: Lewald&Partner Đ a long-time partner of AC&C HSH Group in Germany, H.Bauer Đ one of numerous Polish users of the Puzzle Flow software and Reprograf. Representatives of AC&C HSH Group for their part presented upgrades introduced by the company to the new version of the Puzzle Flow system; participants of the meeting had an opportunity to get acquainted with the changes during the workshop held on the second day of the meeting. All participants received certificates of authorised partners of AC&C HSH Group, and Lewald&Partner and Reprograf were awarded titles of The Partner Of The 2004 Year. Cezar Printing House Among the Best in Europe An official start-up ceremony of the Speedmaster CD 102-LY-6-LYLX press took place in Cezar printing house in Białystok on September 21. The press was tailor made for Cezar by Heidelberg and configured in accordance with the wishes of Cezary Nazar, the companyŐs owner and president. Walter Staehlin, VP of Heidelberg, introduced the press to many guests, who came from Poland and Western Europe as ăone of the kindÓ. He also presented Cezary Nazar with the ăTechnology by HeidelbergÓ award, which is given only to the best printing houses, which have proven their strong position on the market and the highest quality of their product, and which use HeidelbergŐs technology. Large-format KBA at Winkowski An official start-up ceremony of a newly installed large-format KBA Rapida 162 press took place in Piła on September 6. The press had been contracted at this yearŐs Open Days of KBA in Radebeul; it had also been displayed at the KBAŐs stand at drupa. This is the first KBA press of such a large format working in Poland. There were about 150 guests present at the meeting Đ clients of companies of the Winkowski Group and representatives of city authorities of Piła. Among the guest there were also: Albrecht Bolza-SchŸnemann (foto), president of KBA; Wolfram Fellenberg, responsible at KBA for sales in East-Central Europe, and executives of the Polish KBA representative Đ Deva-Print, Jacek Gorecki, President and Bartłomiej Długosz-Gorecki, VP. Plans for Poligrafia 2005 According to the information provided by International Poznan Fair, preparations for Poligrafia Fair 2005, planned for April next year, are gaining speed. Expecting a slightly higher number of exhibitors, between 275-280 companies, are offering an exhibition area of 8000 m2. The concept of the exhibition involves a division into presses and machines, materials and accessories and printing services, and also according to potential addressees of particular segments: domestic and foreign visitors. There is also information related to conferences organised by associations and trade organisations (including the traditional Policon in Rydzyna) and trade publications. The ExhibitorsŐ Evening and the IPF Golden Medals award ceremony are planned for the second day of the Fair. There is also a new concept for a special treatment of ăExhibition NoveltiesÓ, to which a separate section of the fair catalogue will be devoted. A new location for the exposition of Poligrafia fair was also announced Đ they will be moved to pavilions 3, 3a and 3b. Rates for exhibition area are similar to those of two years ago.
